Work accident results in man’s death

Workplace safety is vital, especially when jobs that could be considered risky are underway in Syracuse. This is especially true when the job involves construction. Construction workers rely on their employers to ensure that the site is up to code and free of unnecessary dangers. Many work-related accident claims

are a product of there being violations that the employer didn’t take care to prevent. If a worker is injured or killed as a result of a work accident, the worker and his or her family have a right to seek compensation.

A 34-year-old man fell from a building whose façade was being restored and died. Investigations into the accident and the site found that there were 41 violations of workplace safety. One of the violations involved worker safety since the man who fell was working on a ledge without a harness. Work was halted at the site and the construction company received numerous citations.

Workers who are hurt on the job have the right to receive compensation for their injuries. If there is a fatality, the family has a right to pursue compensation as well. If an accident or medical problem keeps a worker from being able to fulfill his or her duties, the worker should be able to recover benefits or damages for the injuries they suffered. When there is a workplace injury or death, it is imperative to file the required papers as soon as possible to determine what claims can be made.

In this instance, a man died after falling from a ledge while working construction. Numerous violations in regards to safety were found when the accident was investigated.
